Media Temple’s Table Tennis Invitational - Chicago Edition

After three exciting editions in Los Angeles and a successful outing in New York City in the last two years, we decided to take our popular Table Tennis Invitational to the Midwest. On February 23, 32 teams congregated at Untitled in Chicago’s popular River North district to compete for the title of champion.

Did the unseasonably warm winter day emerge from the heated competition? We’re not saying it did; but it certainly could have. Teams from agencies and tech companies from all of Chicagoland brought their A-game in forehands, backhands, and costumes. A hockey team even managed to keep their gloves on in order to make a charge up the standings while Boba Fett and Kylo Ren blasted through the first few rounds effortlessly. Even President Obama made an appearance with his bodyguards and played a few rounds.

Make no mistake: The final prize was there for the taking. In the end, it came down to Leo Burnett and Vivid Seats, two well-organized teams, who battled to the last set. Our final victor was Leo Burnett (pictured in the last photo below), who won our swag bags alongside a donation to Teens Exploring Technology. Congratulations to all!

Thanks again for attending, and check out some of the photos below (more on our Facebook page!).
