SXSW Interactive 2010 - The Highlights

SXSWi 2010

In the six years we’ve been attending SXSW Interactive in Austin TX, we’ve seen it become the who’s who event of the entire tech industry and this year stood out more so than any other! Along with the excitement of our biggest SXSWi closing party ever (video inside), we were very pleased to see a huge number of our longtime clients, partners and buddies kill it this year. Here are the top 5 highlights…

5. TechStars

(mt) clients and seed funding and mentorship gurus, TechStars were at SXSW presenting and being social. CEO David Cohen was part of the Seed Combinator SXSW panel; which showcased some of the pioneers of the seed fund model – a great resource to start ups looking for a little cash and a shove in the right direction. The TechStars crew also popped into the (mt) SXSW house for the secret BBQ and an impromptu sit down with our own Jason McVearry – coming soon to the (mt) blog.

4. Gary Vaynerchuck

Gary Vaynerchuk was of course there, and as always whipped the crowd into a frenzy during one of his legendary keynotes. We have been working with Gary on his many projects and are ever reminded what manic start up energy looks like when working with him. Gary did what he does best, filling the auditorium inspiring everyone! He blew people away once again.

3. MobileRoadie

(mt) buddies and hot startup Mobile Roadie – the guys who created the simple and inexpensive way for anyone to build an iPhone app in minutes – continued their year of success at SXSWi. They were honored this year with winning the esteemed Microsoft BizSpark Accelerator Award for Social Media Business. This category pertains to applications and technologies that help people connect. Congrats to you all at Mobile Roadie!

2. HappyCog

Long time partner and friend Jeffrey Zeldman of Happy Cog, An Event Apart and A List Apart not only spoke on several different panels at SXSWi, he and his awesome crew from HappyCog once again threw their legendary karaoke bash, OK! Happy Cog’aoke. This event takes community participation to the next level, to the Bon Jovi level of awesome.

1. The (mt) Closing Party

We Are Scientist @ mt party
(mt) clients We are Scientists killing it at our closing party!

We wouldn’t feel right without a mention of our biggest closing party ever. With an overwhelming 4000 attendees, 6 musical acts, the return of the mechanical bull AND a full open bar, the party was most definitely our teams’ biggest highlight… and with all the fun we had we want to keep it going… by giving away some goodies!

We’re giving away a party poster, autographed by every artist who rocked our party!

Signed Poster

To get it, post your favorite (mt) fan shots to our facebook fan page. We’re giving the owner of the coolest picture THE limited edition signed party poster. We’ll also be sending the first 50 participants a little gift.

From our team: Thanks to everyone that helped make this SXSW by far the best!
