CreativeMornings at (mt) Headquarters

It’s time for another CreativeMornings jump start! (mt) Media Temple first came across CreativeMornings earlier this year and we were incredibly impressed with the monthly breakfast lecture series. We decided to get involved and sponsor the local Los Angeles chapter. This month however, we’ve taken a step further and opened our own doors to host the June event inside the (mt) Media Temple headquarters. For those of you in the area, make sure to RSVP below. We’d love to see you!

Currently held in New York, Zurich, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, CreativeMornings are gatherings of creative types. Each event includes a 20 minute lecture, followed by a 20 minute group discussion. The gathering begins at 8:30am with the topic presentation starting at 9:00am and everyone taking off for work at 10am. CreativeMornings are free of charge!

Speaker: Josh Nimoy is a new media artist, programmer, designer who forged a bridge between the world of visual arts and the world of programming and engineering. He got his bachelors in Design | Media Arts from UCLA in 2002, and a masters degree in 2004 from the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU’s Tisch School of Arts. He put aside his interactive gallery installations and web pranks in 2006 to create software-art for motion graphics in Los Angeles (TV commercials and music videos), eventually leading up to his involvement in the post-production of Tron:Legacy, creating generative simulations with a small team of motionographers. More recently, Josh has been stoked about his new position at Motorola Mobility as their newest CXD senior staff media and visual designer. Josh reminisces about how things were for interactive artists in the late 90s, before there was Processing/Arduino, and before Flash had a real programming language.

The LosAngeles/CreativeMornings chapter is run by Jon Setzen.
