(dv) Dedicated-Virtual. Now With Plesk 8.6
We’re happy to announce that all new (dv) Dedicated-Virtual VPS Servers, as well as our powerhouse (dpv) Nitros, are now being provisioned with Parallels Plesk Control Panel v8.6!
Included with this update is a refresh of all the software version packages that run behind the scenes. We now have all the latest stable releases for CentOS 5.2. More new features after the jump…
Notable Plesk 8.6 Features:
- Support for the popular “mhash” extension for PHP. This allows you to use the latest web applications that rely on this extra piece of security, such as the Open Source Magento eCommerce software – out of the box!
- Complete support for APS applications with a streamlined way to browse your Application Vault Library. Browse applications by certain categories, such as “Web/Blog” or “Collaboration/Portals,” within the Application Vault.
- Additional AntiSPAM protection with DomainKeys technology; currently in use by such companies as Gmail, Yahoo, Verisign and others. Take advantage of the same protection the big names use!
- FREE Plesk Billing Bundle to make reselling your hosting easier. (Installed separately via this kb article.)
- New database management features include:
- Select a target DB server.
- Back up and subsequently restore databases on a per-domain basis.
- Use a prefix for all database users within a certain domain for increased security and easy searching.
